  • Anand Madanagopal (MCA Master of Computer Applications 1999)

Mr. Anand Madanagopal's (alumnus of MCA, 1999, Managing Director, Cardiac Design Labs) start-up and his company's innovative device (MIRCaM) to monitor cardiac patients was published in The Economic Times.  Please refer:

Cardiac Design Labs are into designing, developing and deploying high-end medical products for a country like India. These products are designed to address the acute shortage of experts and infrastructure. MIRCaM its first product is designed to work in varied clinical settings, from an urban hospital to suburban and rural India to enable experts to diagnose and treat patients effectively and in the case of general physicians to diagnose and refer cardiac patients with available infrastructure. The device is built with intelligence and telemetry to make all this happen.

The product designed is an ambulatory cardiac monitoring and diagnosing system, which does a real time intelligent full disclosure monitoring, analysis and diagnosis of cardiac conditions like wide range of arrhythmia, myocardial ischemia and infarction. The system aims at decentralizing cardiac care by providing extended healthcare to the sub-urban and rural places of India, enabling a general practitioner to diagnose potential cardiac patients and monitor the ECG of his patient effectively and establish a real time connection with an expert at a remote location to effectively treat or refer right patients.  The system is designed to be economically viable in usage. The system as a whole comprises of a wearable unit, analysis device, server and remote terminal that can connect to the device through the server and display live ECG of a patient at a remote location.

  • GAJENDRA GULGULIA (B.Tech Mechanical with Spec. in Energy Engineering 2013)

Mr. Gajendra Gulgulia (alumnus of B.Tech. Mechanical with Spec. in Energy Engineering, 2013) has been selected as Research Engineer, Simulations, Denso Subros Thermal Engineering Center India Ltd.

After his graduation, he was offered internship in CD-adapco.  During the course of his internship, he was exposed to advanced training in automotive underhood thermal management , surface wrapper, mesh morphing and overset mesh techniques in STAR-CCM+ by his mentor. He completed a project on the CFD analysis of a novel valve. During his internship tenure Gajendra participated in the annual CD-adapco calendar competition and secured 2nd position worldwide. His simulation image was featured in the CD-adapco annual calendar for the year 2014.

Before Gajendra's intern was over, the Academic Program Manager offered him another internship at CSIR-CMERI Durgapur.  At CMERI, he got an opportunity to work with the senior most scientists of Aerospace Division. He was assigned with a task to simulate the motion characteristics of valve component varying due to fluid forces and pressure using STAR-CCM+. The valve was a critical component of a civil aircraft system and hence, the CFD simulation demanded a meticulous approach. The 6 DOF-DFBI combined with mesh morphing technique of STAR-CCM+ was utilized to overcome the challenge.  Impressed with the performance of Gajendra, one of the engineer at CD-adapco and the Academic Program Manager forwarded his resume to CD-adapco's clients in India.
